YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!

I'm concerned. The old adage, 'you are what you eat' is true. But this wisdom is hardly entertained in today's world.

Stop and think about it. What you eat powers your body from the cell level. What you eat either supports your wellness, or puts you on the path to less than optimal health. Food seriously matters!

Food industry advertising has lulled people into a false sense of security about the nutritional aspects of processed foods. There is a complacency and a tendency to not give a second thought to what we eat. We think nothing of stopping at drive-up windows to get our upsized meal or fancy coffee - it's convenient. We think nothing of nutking a microwave meal - it too is convenient.

But what about nutrition?

We're so used to convenience and the ability to reach for another drug to solve any problems that crop up, we have stopped thinking about nutrition. Every time we turn on the television we're told to just take another drug. Nutrition is never mentioned. We've forgotten that we have an immune system whose function it is to keep us well. It can only do its job if we give it the 'tools' it needs. The immune system craves optimal nutrition - not pharmaceuticals. When you get sick, you have a deficiency in nutrients that are not found in pharmaceuticals.

Pharmaceuticals do have a place in acute illnesses. In that setting, they are indeed life saving. However, they are only life saving with the help of your immune system. Nutrition is what powers your immune system. It has an integral place in the fight against chronic illness and in support of optimal health. Unfortunately, nutrition is quite often overlooked.

Has your doctor ever inquired about your nutritional intake? Every cell in your body is made from the nutrition you take in. If you take in less than optimal nutrition, you will have less than optimal health. Disease starts at the cell level. If you take in less than optimal nutrition, you will have less than optimal health. It's important to understand and be aware of and serious about the quality of nutrition you give your body.

HEALTHY CELLS = HEALTHY ORGANS = HEALTHY SYSTEMS = HEALTHY BODY

Health starts at the cell level with quality nutrition.
Illness starts at the cell level with poor nutrition.

 
 
WHAT DO YOU DO ABOUT IT?

You frequently think to yourself, 'I need to eat better,' or 'I need to exercise more,' yet you never seem to 'get around to it,' or you try to, but get so confused and befuddled making changes you give up.

Yet there's still that nagging feeling that there is more you can do to improve, regain, and/or support your wellness. You know there's a connection between diet, lifestyle, and illness. But where do you start to create a healthie lifestyle?
